I want to share the name of a product with you that has been great for covering the red areas on my face... those dreaded Rosacea splotches. The name is Dermablend Leg and Body Cover. I bought mine, as well as the powder, at Foley's make-up counter.
I apply it differently than the directions on the back of the tube. I moisten my face, just a bit, all over. Next, I apply Equate Moisturizing Lotion (Fragrance Free) from Walmart. Then I use a make-up pad by saturating it with water and squeeze the water out. I put just a dab of Dermablend on the pad and smear it into the pad, then apply it evenly to the red areas of my face. I allow it to dry and powder it with Dermablend Matte Setting Powder. Voilla!
For those who prefer not to use make-up, there is a special laser that can be a big help in removing the redness. Also, Photoderm treatments may be what you need. Ask your dermatologist to recommend someone.
I don't remember where I heard of the following Homemade Topical, but it was created due to the fact that prescription topical antibiotics contain alcohol and irritates Rosacea.
Dissolve 1 tablet of Erythromycin in 2 tablespoons of water. Use a few drops of this mixture on your face every day. Admittedly, I have not tried this one, yet.
Rosacea has many triggers/trip-wires that can cause flare-ups, but not all Rosaceans necessarily get flared-up to the same degree by the same triggers. Fortunately, I like everything! Those who are are picky eaters are the ones who are cut short on their menus.
The following is a list of triggers that I received from my Dermatologist and the Rosacea Society, etc.

(Even if it weren't for Rosacea, I recently read a very interesting article with a negative report regarding Soy because of Testosterone).
